What You Can Do
Just Sit (Meditation Timer)
The core silent timer is included. Open the app, choose a duration, and tap the ring to start.
Optional timer extras include bells, intervals, and soundscapes. More in Just Sit.
The First Week — Free
Seven days of form and mindset, then silence. A couple of minutes of instruction, then you sit. The daily sit is the whole practice. The full instructions are in the Learn section.
Your Way — Subscription
A daily companion after the first week: one theme, then you sit. App Store subscription with a 7-day trial. Monthly, yearly, or lifetime. More in the Your Way section.
The meditation timer will always remain free so you can always Just Sit.
Your Way : Curriculum
Zen is rooted in ancient Chinese Chan Buddhist tradition. From there, generally speaking, two schools emerged. Rinzai is the sudden way where a series of koans triggers awakening. Soto is the gradual way. As Dogen puts it, the way is already perfect. Just sitting is enough.
From the 70s on, in the West, these ancient traditional practices were translated into more clinical forms, e.g. MBSR, where benefits can be measured for stress and anxiety. Millions now practice some form of mindfulness. The focus shifted from awakening as a grand goal to practical benefits in daily life.
Zen : Your Way is for the curious meditator who wants more than immediate benefits in daily life. The curriculum is split into weeks of daily guided meditations, each around a theme or tradition. Every day one idea is introduced and then follows an invitation to just sit. As the weeks progress ideas return at a deeper level.
After every week you are offered to continue on a different theme or to spend some days just sitting. This lets you benefit at three levels. You get practical support for daily life. You learn where the practices came from. And with a nod to Soto Zen, “Just Sit” remains at the center of it all.
Language
English today. More languages are planned: FR, NL, DE coming first. But this may take a while — translating the full library of guided sessions properly takes a long time.
How I Use AI
Spoken guidance in the app is generated with AI. I do not have a voice for radio, and a generated voice is core to being able to offer multi-language support later.
Every meditation script is researched, written & reviewed by me. The final word is always human.
Not A Medical Device
Zen : Your Way supports personal meditation practice. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or therapy. If you need clinical or mental-health support, please contact a qualified professional.
Privacy And Your Data
See the full Privacy Policy.
In short: you do not need an account to sit. Settings stay on your device. If you subscribe to Your Way, restore a purchase, or receive a scholarship, I store a small account record on my server — your Zen : Your Way ID, optional email, entitlement status, and where you are on the daily path (not silent timer history). Essentially just the bare minimum I need to make this app work.
Delete Your Data
- Remove the app from your devices to delete on-device app data.
- For anything held only by Apple (for example App Store / TestFlight account data), use Apple’s account and device controls.

Refunds And Purchases
